みうらじゅん『愛にこんがらがって』（角川文庫）
いわずと知れた「文科系サブカルオヤジ」の処女長編小説。長編といってもそれ程長い話じゃない。サクっと読める。けれども、妙に切ないモヤモヤが残る話でもある。
みうらじゅんのことははんなりと好きだ。彼もぼくも京都育ちだからいってみた。いや、要するに物凄く熱心に好きなわけでもないけれど、常に気になる存在ではあるということだ。
サブカル系なのにメジャーで必ずしも作家が本業じゃない。そういう意味で似た系統の作家、大槻ケンヂの小説はかなり好きだ。二人には共通点が結構あると思う。
- 妙なものに偏愛を示す
- ロックに拘りがある
- 少し変わった題材を好んで書く
- 自伝的小説を書いている
うん。似ている。
けれども、そんなのは上辺の話だろう。実際みうらじゅんの小説を読んでみると、全然タイプが違う。オーケンは辛い現実の先に突き抜けたロマンティシズムを、みうらじゅんは突き抜けられない現実をそれぞれ書いているのだと思う。
文才という意味ではオーケンに軍配があがるけれど、みうらじゅんの文章も平易で読み易い点では好感が持てる。ともあれ、どちらも作家として、著名人の手慰みの域を超えた作品をものしているところが、なんといっても最大の共通点だろう。
ところで『愛にこんがらがって』
