佐藤亜紀『天使』（文春文庫）
第一次大戦前夜の欧州を舞台に、悩めるサイキック美少年(青年)が活躍するという、ある種の嗜好を持った人たちにはたまらない本だ。内容も語り口もデコラティブで、翻訳文のようないい回しや大仰といえなくもない比喩表現が、かえってこの作品を文学的にしているのだと思う。あとはそれが肌に合うか合わないかの問題だ。
ぼくは美に疎い。けれども、過剰なものは好きだ。
内容と文体の関係についてなんて難しいことを考えながら読むわけではないけれど、その蜜月を感じながら読むのは心地好い。文学的だとか芸術的だとかいうのは歴史の問題だから、ぼくには分からない。感想をいえば、ぼくには少し文体の片想いに見えた。
語りたいことだけを語っているかのような説明的記述の少なさは読者の知識や想像力を試すことになる。お手軽なファンタジーノベルや欲望を満たすだけの耽美小説だと思って読むと頁がなかなか繰れないかもしれない。解り易さを求められる記述ではないからだ。能動的な読みができるかどうかがこの作品を愉しめるかどうかの分水嶺になるのだろうと思う。

ただし、文春文庫版の解説は読まない方がいい。ぼくは本編の前に解説はあまり読まない。どうしても先入観を避けられないからだ。前もって読まなくて本当に良かった。この本の解説はある種の人たちにはとても効果的かもしれない。けれども、そうでない人たちにはむしろマイナスでしかないと思う。
もし読んでいたら買わなかったかもしれない。

This blog appears to get a large ammount of visitors. How do you promote it? It offers a nice unique spin on things. I guess having something useful or substantial to say is the most important thing.

Apple now has Rhapsody as an app, which is a great start, but it is currently hampered by the inability to store locally on your iPod, and has a dismal 64kbps bit rate. If this changes, then it will somewhat negate this advantage for the Zune, but the 10 songs per month will still be a big plus in Zune Pass' favor.
